PREFACE
Faculty of education, Tribhuvan University introduced two year M.Ed. programme since academic session of 1999 to make consonant with the three year B.Ed. programme. M.Ed. programme offers specialization in twelve different areas including mathematics education. Math. Ed. 519; Foundation of Mathematics Education is one of the courses offered in M.Ed. math-Education in first year. 

Foundation of Mathematics Education course has been designed to provide prospective mathematics teacher educators with the sound knowledge of varied fields of mathematics education, many learning theories, and teaching strategies and aboard. The course has been divided into two parts: theoretical and practical parts.  Students are required to pass in both theory and practical separately. In practical part, each student has to prepare a detail “Teaching Module” in one topic from school mathematics.
Teaching Module on Geometry has been prepared for the partial fulfillment of the requirements of the practical part of Math. Ed. 519; Foundation of Mathematics Education. The conceptual planning of how to impart mathematical knowledge effectively to the student’s id called module. It is also helpful for qualified and experienced teacher. It helps the teacher for formulating objectives, selecting contents, providing a sound teaching learning strategy and appropriate evaluation techniques, the assessing student’s performance. It guides to the teacher what activities a teacher and students should select to achieve the predetermined goals of mathematics. Specifically, this module contains meaning of teaching module, objectives, contents, material, and procedure for assessing student’s progress.

I like to express my heartfelt gratitude to prof. Maheshwor Pokharel who always encouraged, directed and helped me in the preparation of this module through various ways.
